How Have I Made It This Far?I Refused

Raymond Kyle

Founder Warrior Foundation.

For many of us our past at times may have made us wonder how we are still alive today? Well I will tell you how….by the grace of God!

We all have done things in our lives or put ourselves in situations that it’s a miracle we made it out of. For some of us like myself it seemed to become and everyday thing. We would willingly put ourselves out there not caring what the outcome would be. Escaping death for the first time was scary but then it no longer became a fear it became who we were.

You may ask why God would save us time and time again when we didn’t even attempt to save ourselves. Why would he save us and not the ones who died doing the same things we were? Well all I can say is its by his grace we are here today! His mercy and his love is what has gotten us to this point in our lives.

How Have I Made It This Far? Click to Tweet

He is a father to us all so therefore he protects his children. If you are one of us blessed children of God that has lived the life of addiction and crime then you are here still cause you have a purpose that you need to fulfill. So to you I say quit asking why you are here and start asking how do I fulfill my purpose. God has a plan and it’s up to us to fulfill than plan. God bless you!

IS AA/NA THE ONLY WAY TO RECOVER?aa-chip

There seems to be an ongoing debate as to whether or not and individual can truly recover from addiction without following the 12 steps and the AA/NA program?

Let me begin by saying this, AA/NA has worked for millions of people for many many years, and it will continue to do so for years to come. The guidelines and principals taught in these programs can be very helpful in recovery, so I do believe the foundation of AA/NA is amazing.

Raymond Kyle

Founder Warrior Foundation.

But, yes there is a but, I very firmly believe in what works for one person may not necessarily work for the next. We as individuals are all made differently in so many ways. So it’s safe to say one program is not gonna work for everybody.

In today’s society it is becoming more and more often you hear of these amazing stories of recovery from individuals who work their own program their own way and are doing an amazing job.
There is no right or wrong way to recover. Long as you are moving forward, and are getting better in life then keep doing what you are doing.

IS AA/NA THE ONLY WAY TO RECOVER? Click to Tweet

Don’t ever let anybody tell you that you are doing it wrong cause there is no right or wrong way. Recovery is simply about living life on life’s terms and we each lead a different life.I will end with this! This should not even be a debate. We should all encourage and lift up each other no matter what program works for us. We are in this together and we will win, cause we do recover.

Tap Into You – Do You Believe???????

How many times in our lives have we not done something simply because we didn’t believe in ourselves, simply because we didn’t think we were deserving or worthy, simply because we was afraid that we would fail?

Raymond Kyle

Founder Warrior Foundation.

The answer to that question is easy, too many times we have used these excuses to avoid doing something cause of fear, doubt, or uncertainty. The thought of failure for many of us is a looming distraction that ultimately keeps us from achieving the greatness that each one of us was created to be.

Tap Into You - Do You Believe Click to Tweet

We cannot tap into our full potential and we cannot be the Kings and Queens we were created to be by continuing to allow society, or another individual to tell us who we are and what we can or cannot do. We must face our fears, no matter how hard it may be it’s vital to our growth. We must overcome the doubt, and stop putting limits on ourselves and what we are capable of. We must quit allowing outside forces to define who we are, we are good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, and deserving of the life we are striving to live.

It is my challenge to you to begin tapping into your full potential each and every day. Show no mercy. Hold back nothing. Step into greatness where you were born to be. God bless you my friends.

relapse-rat

Relapse is not part of recovery

Relapse is not part of recovery. Let me say it one more time, relapse is not part of recovery. Even though it happens quite often to not only the newcomer, but to those who’s been in the process for years as well, it still is not part of recovery..
Raymond Kyle

Founder Warrior Foundation.

To consider relapse as part of recovery, takes validation away from your process of recovery. Recovery is about bettering yourself, and pushing forward. It teaches dedication, hard work, focus, determination and courage. If a relapse occurs

it’s not cause it’s good for us, and that it’s making us better. It’s not cause it’s part of our process. It’s simply cause you lost focus, you had a weak moment in your process, and you allowed the disease that you battle to win.

.
Relapse is not part of recovery Click to Tweet

But my friends, it does happen, and as sad as it may be it happens quite often. But don’t come into your process with the mindset that relapse is part of recovery. With that mindset it’s only a matter if time til it does happen. Instead, you stay focused on your progress, you keep the mindset that by any means necessary you will not relapse. The mindset that you will not give up. The mindset of a warrior; born to fight and fight to win.

A Journey Through My Mind

journey-through-my-mind

Raymond Kyle

Founder Warrior Foundation.

Allow me to take you on a journey thru my mind, a place many have wanted to go, some have had the chance, and very few could actually handle. Let me take you to a place that’s unknown to your eyes, but once you open them and I mean open them from your soul, then I can show you a world that you would soon learn to love, if only you was to give it a chance.

.
A Journey Through My Mind Click to Tweet

See my mind runs a hundred miles an hour, always thinking of ways to be different and unique, showing my intellect and intelligence, and inspiration to those who may need me. That is what makes me who I am and that is why I am so proud of who I am. My story is a story that is told by he that lives within my soul, he that was once so lonely and lost by his own mistakes and choices.

Llanwrst, Conwy, Wales

But now he has opened his eyes to his soul to see the beauty that lies within and has come to understand the greatness he was blessed with from his birth. He has let his flowers blossom instead of pulling his mind and body and soul with things of the world that for so long controlled who he was. Over time he has become a better man, a man that he can be proud of, the man he was so intended to be. Every day still working on his life and on his self to be better and to do better with his life.

in-the-end-we-only-regret-the-chances-we-didnt-take1

So do you understand what I am saying? We all take chances in life, we all make mistakes. Sometimes before we know it we are blinded by our own self, trying to understand life and our reason for living.

Nobody controls our destiny in this world but ourselves. Life is what we make it by the choice we each choose to make. Every choice has consequences and repercussions no matter good or bad. We all must answer for the choices we choose to make and be held accountable. None of us is perfect, and we never will be, but we must all strive to be better and learn from our mistakes. Sometimes you may end up paying for choices we made for the rest of our live, but that does not mean that we cannot keep bettering ourselves or helping others better themselves for true LOVE has no limits.

We all can make a list of reasons we could give up, but many of us choose not to. Why? Cause we all have more reasons not too. Life is sometimes hard, this I do know all too well. I also know that it will probably get worse before It gets better, but I know that each one of us is capable of fighting thru all ND making it thru.

sorry

Today you stop feeling sorry for yourself, you stand up, you shake it off and you decide that you are going to be the man and woman, the king and queen that you know you are. Don’t give up and waste your life. Love yourself, love yourself enough to help yourself and to make the right choices in life. Ladies you are a queen and a queen you shall always be. Men, you are kings and kings you shall always be. Claim it, live it, love it.

Just remember when life throws you a loop and it seems like nobody loves you or cares God does and I do. God loves us every day, all day, every second or every day. He never takes a day off. God bless you as you continue your journey.

My Daughter the Addict – A Suburban Mom’s Nightmare @StopFryingBrain

By: Katie Donovan

I was the PTO mom, the carpool mom, the Brownie leader. We ate family dinners at the table, taught our children manners and took family vacations. My husband and I were blessed to have very good jobs. My daughter, Brittany, the beautiful girl in the photo, was the honor roll student, the volunteer at the city parks and recreation department and loved playing sports.

THEN OUR ENTIRE LIVES CHANGED

Growing up, I had skewed images of what a heroin addict looked like. I envisioned them sitting in an ally, or a gangster or a criminal. The stereotypical hippie from the 60’s and 70’s that grew up in a bad home. I had preconceived notions that you had to stay away from them…that they were

BAD PEOPLE.
NEVER ONCE DID I ENVISION MY DAUGHTER.

I am very ashamed of my thoughts now. I never really had a “real” exposure to addiction. What I saw was what was pictured in the movies, or on TV. We lived in the suburbs where “that just didn’t happen around here”.

BOY WAS I WRONG

Now, addiction has a multitude of faces. It’s the high school quarterback who became injured in a game, was prescribed Vicodin and became addicted.

It’s the mom down the street from you, driving her minivan to CVS to pick up more pills, even though she just finished a 30-day supply in 10 days.

It’s the babysitter who went to a party and didn’t drink, as mom and dad properly told her the dangers of it. So she took a few pills instead.

It’s the heroic marine who fought in the Gulf War, who is now fighting PTSD.

It’s the corporate executive who was prescribed Xanax for stress.

It’s the senior citizen who had hip surgery and within weeks, unknowingly was now dependent on prescription narcotics.

click-hope-handcuffs

IT’S MY DAUGHTER

This is happening in our homes, our communities, our schools!! No one is immune. It affects all classes, races, ages and professions.

GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF THE SAND

If you feel like “it would never happen to you or anyone in your circle”, take a look around. It’s happening. You may not even know it. Most become isolated in fear and lost in their addiction, finding it hard to reach out.

ITS TIME TO SHOW SOME COMPASSION

Recently, as I was walking to my car, I noticed a homeless man hunched over. Instead of walking by him, I stopped and asked him if I could sit down next to him. We talked for a good hour. Turns out he was a marine, who was injured, became addicted to Vicodin and didn’t know how to stop, but wanted to so bad. Swore, he would NEVER do heroin…that’s what junkies do. But then his pills got too expensive and now his body was physically getting sick. He ended up turning to heroin, just to feel normal again. My heart broke for him. I gave him my card and said to call me if he was ever ready for help. He called 2 days later. He is currently at a 6-month treatment facility, fighting for recovery and has renewed hope in life.

As a community, it’s time to come together. These are not “junkies in the corner” …these are our friends, our neighbors, your grandfather, men who fought for our country.

THESE ARE OUR CHILDREN.

Please, don’t’ make assumptions on people. The next time you are walking and see someone homeless, don’t walk past and avert your eyes. Stop and reach out your hand. It was my daughter sitting there once, lost in her addiction and feeling hopeless.

YOU MAY JUST SAVE A LIFE

Prince. It’s a name that everyone knows, whether you liked him or not. He made an unforgettable name for himself with his signature eclectic fashion, wild dance moves, & flashy hair & makeup.

Chelsearae SFYB Contributing Author

While some artists hide behind glitz and glamour to hide a lack of talent, Prince also had an impressive vocal range and musical talents. His fans are still trying to recover from the shocking news of this super star’s recent death and what may have led to it. He wasn’t exactly young anymore, but we all expected him to have quite a few years left. Although there’s been no official cause of death released yet, many believe that his addiction to painkillers is what did him in. There are a few clues as to why this is a possible scenario, but first let’s look at the life of this legendary singer.

2016-05-04_21-28-27
2016-06-18_11-35-27

WATCH AWESOME !!!!!!

This unique songwriter, vocalist, and creative musician was born with the name Prince Rogers Nelson in Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 7th, 1958. He grew up with creative and musical parents, so perhaps it’s no surprise that he went on to be so intrigued and enamored by that lifestyle. His father, John Nelson, was a musical artist who performed under the name Prince Rogers. His mother, Mattie Shaw, was a jazz singer and performer who performed regularly with her husband’s band.

Prince noticed his interest in music as a young boy and soon picked up the drums, guitar, and piano. Quite impressively, the young man taught himself these instruments. When his parents split up when he was around age 10, he and his sibling divided their weeks between each parent’s house. Unhappy with this arrangement, young Prince ran away to move in with a neighboring family named the Andersons. Once he reached his teenage years, Prince joined his very first band, “Grand Central”. Many successful artists have a rough childhood and channel their frustration into some type of passion, which seems to be the case with Prince, as well.

It was 1978 when Prince got a record deal with Warner Bros. In later interviews, the singer admitted that was a kid he has epilepsy which manifested in seizures, causing him to be made fun of at school. When he first came onto the music scene, he tried to make up for this bullying by being as loud and flashy as possible. This became a signature style of the legend and one of the many unique things he became known for.

People close to Prince have said that he’s struggled with serious pain, especially in more recent times. Those of us who know anything about drugs are immediately wondering, upon hearing this, about the connection between this pain and his recent death. Many years of performance, much of which was enthusiastic moving and jumping around up on stages, had led to issues with his ankles and hips. These issues persisted for so long, he started to get really down about them, which he revealed in an interview with Kevin Frazier from Entertainment Tonight.

Another source has claimed the same thing. Sheila E., who has been friend with the man for years and was even engaged to him at one point, said in an interview with Good Morning America that the singer was in pain constantly. All those jumps from high surfaces in fancy boots eventually started to wear on him. But performing was his life, and he wasn’t about to let that stop him. He was dedicated to his art, regardless of the toll it took on his body. Every musician who becomes a legend has this same philosophy.

FB Join Group

Less than a week before he died, a private plane that the celebrity was on had to perform an emergency landing to rush him to a hospital in a small city in Illinois. Official spokespersons for Prince have said that he had the flu, but still other sources claim that the artist had overdosed on OxyCodone and needed an injection to be kept alive. Crew members of the artist told the medical professionals that Prince had needed the pill he took for his serious pain in the hip. He had had replacement surgery about six years ago.

Once you read about this information as a whole, the puzzle pieces seem to start fitting together as to what killed the legend, Prince. There is another clue that points to addiction, which is a comment made by a man who claims to have sold drugs to Prince in the past. The man, who goes by “Doctor D” (to remain anonymous, which is probably a smart move), said that the star had a major addiction to hydromorphone. This mysterious Doctor D says he was the celebrity’s drug dealer starting in 1984 all the way up to 2008. The “Doctor” worked alongside Prince on a movie set for Purple Rain and claims that the star was already hooked when he began selling him drugs. Perhaps not wanting to get any of the blame for what became of the singer, Doctor D was insistent about the fact that he didn’t start Prince out on opiates.

The dealer revealed that Prince was addicted to Dilaudid and was also no stranger to the junkie’s best friend, fentanyl patches. These hardcore opiates are nothing to mess around with and can cause serious addiction and health problems. Dedicating yourself to your art form means that pain is not an option, and the singer did everything he could to maintain his abilities to move around in his signature ways and live up to his great name.

Another clue that points to his cause of death is the fact that in his last days, Prince made multiple journeys to a nearby Walgreens. Paparazzi photos depict the singer outside of the pharmacy a mere hours before someone found him passed out in the elevator of his $10 million home.

An autopsy was performed and the celebrity was cremated. The autopsy results will take at least a month, with fans anxiously awaiting the news of what could have ended such an enthusiastic and passionate life.

The slums is a beautiful place for someone like me. These abandoned gutters and lost souls that vaca such an area of opportunity for dope slangin. I flipped the script on the 50 and the 9 to 5ers, and I bank. Having the keys to the candy store gives me my own personal supply.

Sure I could bitch and cuss about being beat down, shot, robbed, lied to, stabbed, but I never felt less judged being in a place like a crack house. That’s where I lived most of my life… home to me bro. I actually feel safe here.

You think you have it bad? I dodge bullets going to work. The local gang down the street just as soon shoot me, it’s all about turf and dollars dude. That’s my pink slip.

So Donald Trump eat me. :-) I hope you get elected and fire them idiots in charge. That’s if you can figure out who is actually in charge. I know I can’t. They stand up there and say one thing, get elected and do something else all together. Depending on who gave them the most money. Corporate Congress I say..

Donald Trump for President

Donald Trump for President – No More Mr Nice Guy… Make America Strong Again

OBama you don’t know the game, you got the rules missin.  Trying to convince the fools this addiction is a disease, so you can stack the benjamins and the insurance companies pay. I’m on the scene major and front row, VIP in the dirt you want to forget about. I don’t think addiction is a disease.

This is a Cash Game on the street feeding cheese in Rat Park, I’m not the playa, I in the game, and they always come back. Just like the big insurance companies depend on. I learned the trade from them. Land of the free but mandatory insurance? Sounds like Hitler to me.

Dam I’m just a country boy from Kentucky how I ended up here I’m not sure. Watch my favored song and learn about me….. This song says it all. I can’t believe I got shot over this.
I earned my right (payed in blood) for my opinion so take a second of your day is all I ask. I paid for your freedom the hard way… please give me a second of your time and hear my perspective.

I didn’t screw up all these people lives I just help them forget. I mean down here in the hood we don’t have any options no jobs, no future. Hopelessness rules the day. Its pure pain not to be able to provide for the kids. It eats at you and messes with your head in a way I can’t explain. .

Our politicians packed our jobs and companies up and sent them to China. All that’s left is a sea of despair. Sold us out. We don’t make nothing in this country anymore  Either sling crack rock or become a basketball star and we all know that white boys can’t jump. The government did teach me how to dodge bullets until one day, but that’s yet another story..I’ll save for later. Got screwed again.

You never feel alone for a friend with a fix is never one to be missed. I question my perspective on the crack candy I sell.

Am I the one to blame or did these people seek to kill their pain? You see I’m not evil I’m just trying to eat and make a living man. I don’t have any choice. Who’s going to hire me with a possession charge?  I don’t seem to have any options. Can’t believe I’m still alive.

It’s like this dude, after corporate Congress and all of our fine outstanding politicians finishes screwing the citizens out of everything they own, they show up on my doorstep hurting.

When your hungry the first thing to go is your morals. Your going to eat dude. I’m trapped in this mess with the rest of them. Hell I didn’t invent this shit, the big drug companies did. They were hired by the government I understand for war many years ago. Where do you think these drugs originated from in the 1st place? R&D on your kids returning from Nam. That’s where. Your flesh and blood.

Donald Trump for President - No More Mr Nice Guy..

Donald Trump for President – No More Mr Nice Guy..

Crack is the drug of choice for me because it helps me forget my miserable life and the pain that I live in as I watch my mother go out the door with the new John.

Something happened to my head in Nam when I caught my first bullet after verifying the body count. They say I got a duel case of PTSD and some other thing? Don’t really understand it.

I don’t know how I caught it because always wore a rubber with the gook chicks, think it had something to do with counting the pile of dead bodies every day and then come across one of my friends. That was the day it happened.

Yea…That bent my head for good. Does anybody even remember what that shit was all about? I know for one thing for sure… I haven’t a clue anymore. (Still Frying My Brain) I hear we won? What a joke. We haven’t won anything I can remember. Liers..

Crack cocaine rocks packaged for sale

Crack cocaine rocks packaged for sale

It is like they smell it, they become super dogs. Once they gets a taste they have a sixth sense for it.Reminds me of the horror show. The walking dead. But, they are not addicted because I supply this stuff.

Their own demons eat them alive and I just happen to have a remedy for the pain and sorrow created by the fine mess of our leadership of this country. I understand, in the same boat myself.

The question is, if this is a learned behavior or a real disease? How can we make it public that it can be unlearned. Your drop science says to be learned is to repeat actions that leads to changes based on practice or experience. I’m pretty sure its not a disease. I wasn’t board a crack head. I was at one time a full functioning human.

Most of the crack addicts I know were not born a crack head. When they got hurt enough they started looking for relief. If not crack, then something else. Many times they just stop when the pain of being a crackhead becomes too much. The experts say this is rock bottom. It’s about pain and social disfunction I say. If its a disease its a self inflected one.

I wake up, throw on the clothes on my floor from the night before, look in the mirror and question if  this games gonna kill me. I personally don’t know any old crack dealers. Where do they go? I roll picking up my supply for the week, cheapest way is to get a kilo and cook it up and cut it with a little bit of shit. I can’t raise the price after the fools are addicted like the legal drug companies do so I have to cut it to get my margins up. A little bit about that later.

Donald Trump for President - No More Mr Nice Guy..

Donald Trump for President – No More Mr Nice Guy – Endorsement by the boys in the hood & The United Federation of Crack Dealers of America :-) Now that’s funny.

I converse with my ace, he is like family to me. Running through my head is selling what I am given and what bitch is going to hang with me for the day. I enjoy the company, talking and negotiating. But it isn’t much of a life. At least I can keep a roof over my head and have learned to appreciate a big Mac and that’s on a good day dog. And of course the system wants to paint a big red X on my back lock me up. I don’t think I’ll ever happen.

Spitting with my fellow crackheads, I hear all their stories.  How messed up their lives have been since they were shorties. They lived in the fallen areas of society forgotten by the government with drug attics, alcoholics, and been abused in ways yall never understand after the corporations and politicians finished harvesting for a profit. They are doing the same thing to the land too. Do you know who OWNS the gran canyon? Not americans… Dhaaa think about that. They done pawned that to. Google it.

What disease is this? Self inflicted? I think not. Addiction is?  These repeated actions of getting screwed lead people to becoming addicted seeking no more pain because they have a problem bigger than them.

They were skooled to become an addict by the great leadership of this country.selling off our livelihood. Just where would I be able to get a job anyway? The NSA (maybe). Well nope not happening in this country anymore. Now they want to lock me up because I need to eat. They sold my job so now I’m screwed.

Dog I’m telling you we’ve ALL been screwed this country is going down the toilet. So if you despise me just remember one day in the near future you’ll probably be really happy to see me too. Just remember big brother is watching you dog.Soon you’ll have a big red x on your back. Smart phones they say.

Testing-Prisoner-in-Cell

The played hoes lay half-dressed on the couch enjoying their easy living and free fix. I spit at them for a minute to see if I wanna hit it. Gotta be careful cause the money brings bitches and the bitches bring lies. I can’t get caught between the bitches, my steel, and my chips. There’s a big idea of respect coming into houses like these. What is in here is theirs, unless you pay the right price. That goes for the woman too.

Italy-Hookers-Drugs

I got busta, hoes, and the 50 watchin. I pack steel and roll deep. I never know if I will get bum rushed, walkin out of those doors and have a piece held to my chest, or a knife to my throat. Is it the smack, or the stacks of cash?  Nobody cares unless you be pretty, or dying, never about the process in between which is where I see myself as I walk out of this dope house once again. I’ll be back, hopefully. I know that one day soon I probably won’t.

You don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure out what causes addiction. You can learn a lot from a crack head and let me tell you i’m an expert. I think they have it all wrong. These guys nailed it. Watch the clip below

Medical and law enforcement authorities work feverishly around the clock in an attempt to assuage the predicament while legislators fight to find a solution that brings aid for those in need instead of ineffective punishment. Yet, even with the attention and manpower applied to this most daunting adversary, somehow one growing group of people affected by addiction and substance abuse is still overlooked.

The demographic of people suffering from substance abuse that is largely overlooked is the elderly.

The most recent data provided by the
National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism reported that about 40 percent of people above the age of 65 drink alcohol, which is more damaging to the body as one ages. It leads to an array of health issues including organ failure and death, especially in prolonged drinkers.

In older adults with pre-existing health conditions, alcohol consumption and abuse complicates their health further. Diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and liver problems are among the conditions worsened by alcohol consumption. Even in a healthy person over the age of 65 more than three alcoholic drinks in a day or more than seven in a week is not recommended.

Prescription pain medication abuse is also a growing concern in the older community. Some sources contribute the problem to more elderly people being prescribed multiple medications and for extended periods of time which can allot for addiction to form. Issues with memory can also account for misuse of prescription medication, though most older adults suffering from substance abuse disorders are conscious of their misuse.

Unfortunately the problem is often passed off as just a reality of being older. Adult children do not recognize the symptoms of addiction due to infrequent interactions with their parents or, worse yet, excuse it as just a ‘funny quirk,’ not realizing just how serious the issue can become. Just as with alcohol, misuse of medications has a more profound effect on older victims.

The substance abuse problem among the elderly goes beyond misuse due to overprescribing: studies show that ‘Baby Boomers’ from the era of free love and widespread illegal drug experimentation are more likely to use illicit substances than previous generations.

2015-10-24_8-59-56

As reported by the New York Times, illicit substance abuse among people in their 50s more than doubled between 2002 and 2011. Along with alcohol and prescription opiates, the elderly most commonly abused cocaine and marijuana. With the elderly population slated to increase to 73 million by 2030 and few rehabilitation facilities offering age-specific treatment, the issue of substance abuse among the elderly is only getting worse.
