Fort Lauderdale Hospital is a fully licensed, 100-bed, private hospital that specializes in the treatment of drug addiction, mental health issues and co-occurring disorders for adolescents (11-17), adults (18+), and seniors (55+).

Atlantic Shores Hospital is a private substance abuse and behavioral health treatment facility for adolescents and adults, providing both acute inpatient and residential (long-term) care. Our curriculum-based program is designed to address elements and behaviors common to those challenged by chemical dependency and/or mental health issues.

Our 72-bed facility dedicates 42 beds to adult acute inpatient treatment, while 30 beds are reserved for our adolescent patients requiring
residential treatment.

Located on two acres in Fort Lauderdale, Atlantic Shores’ semi-private living units are located just minutes away from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.

A provider for behavioral health and substance abuse services, Atlantic Shores Hospitalhas a full understanding of each factor that contributes to the hardships a person faces when dealing with chemical dependency or mental health issues including emotional, developmental, psychological, familial, social and cultural factors, and we are here to help.

Maite Soria
Maite brings a wealth of knowledge in navigating the care systems in Broward and Dade County as they pertain to a variety of behavioral health, needs. Maite’s main role is to act as liaison between Fort Lauderdale Hospital and Atlantic Shores Hospital in assisting local facilities and agencies who need to access detox and psychiatric stabilization for children, adolescents and adults.

Maite is an LGBTQ advocate and proudly serves as champion of The Pride Institute - an inpatient detox, rehab and psych stabilization unit inside of Fort Lauderdale Hospital. She also works one on one with local referral sources and non-profit agencies who need assistance accessing our services.

Care Resource, Your Community's Source for Healthcare

Ms. Soria began her tenure at Care Resource in 2010, as a Health Promotion & Marketing for Care Resource, of which she has tenure of over 6 years. She mainly worked with the FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Center) program, serving persons who are uninsured and underinsured in the Broward County area. Additionally, she gathers resources for clients that will aid them with maintaining their medical care, whereby impacting their social and mental well – being.
In Ms. Soria’s role as Client Support Assistant, she linked clients to medical care, and gave psychosocial support.

In 2012, Ms. Soria was promoted to Case Manager, she was responsible for treatment adherence counseling, utilizing a strengths-based approach. Her efforts focused on identifying minorities and educating on HIV, Hepatitis C, Alcohol and Substance Abuse.

Ms. Soria has single-handedly networked within the Broward County community and established working relationships with numerous agencies, facilities, and organizations to provide the care needed for clients “at – risk,” of alcohol and substance abuse. Many of the clients Ms. Soria serves do not have needed funding for health care, inpatient substance abuse, sober housing, medical care, clothing, food, etc. and she never takes “NO” for an answer. She will find the resources to provide the client.

Ms. Soria founded alongside T-House Broward County Health Department, a partnership in the creation of “ TALKIN’ T “ , an open topic discussion for the gender-non-conforming persons. She presented several needs to the Medical Director, in Care Resource for specialized free medical vouchers, transgender and PrEP (preexposureprophylaxis) that would include the initial medical appointment and follow-up, including all necessary hormone lab and basic lab the patient would be linked into the FQHC (sliding fee scale), followed by medication assistance with the in-house pharmacy.
Ms. Soria linked into care with vouchers over 502 patients.
